Lanark and Hamilton East MP, Angela Crawley, has today called on her constituents to join the NHS Organ Donor Register following the launch of the ‘We Need Everybody’ campaign. 

The campaign – funded by NHS Scotland – highlights the fact that anyone can be an organ donor, and that by having more people on the register, more lives will be saved.

There is currently 540 people waiting for a life-saving transplant in Scotland.

Commenting, Angela said:

“This is an important campaign – one which will help save lives in my constituency and across Scotland.

“43% of Scots are currently on the register, but we need more. It only takes two minutes to sign up online and could have a huge impact.

“The ‘We Need Everybody’ campaign drives home the fact that everybody has it in them to save a life. The Organ Donor Register is a vital resource for our NHS and with hundreds of people needing our support, it is as vital to sign up and do our bit.”
