Westminster School Visits

Each year MPs welcome hundreds of school students to Parliament. The normal format for a Westminster School Visit is a coach trip, arriving in London in the morning for a free walking tour of the Palace of Westminster.

Whenever possible, Angela and her staff do their very best to meet visitors from her constituency to talk about the politics and history of Westminster, the work of an MP and about local issues. Ideal numbers for each visit are 10-30; repeated tours from the same school are acceptable. Unfortunately, Angela cannot meet travel or other costs.

Visits to London can also take in nearby famous London landmarks such as Tate Britain, The National Gallery, or The London Eye before you head home. There are often free educational exhibitions in Parliament too.

The best day for a Westminster School Visit is a Tuesday when Parliament is sitting (October to July).

Angela also carries out a programme of school visits throughout her constituency. The visits are an excellent opportunity for students and teachers to talk to their MP about various issues and for Angela to see the school at work.
