Call for nominations ahead of South Lanarkshire Volunteer Awards ceremony

Lanark and Hamilton East MP Angela Crawley has called on her constituents to nominate a volunteer deserving of recognition ahead of the South Lanarkshire Volunteer Awards ceremony.

The volunteer awards up for grabs include: ‘Volunteer of the Year,’ ‘Young Volunteer of the Year,’ ‘Long-serving Volunteer of the Year,’ ‘Environmental Volunteer of the Year,’ and ‘Trustee/Committee Member of the Year.’

The event is scheduled to take place during Volunteering Week, from the 1st to the 12th of June.

Commenting, Angela said:

“Since becoming a Member of Parliament, one of the most heartening experiences of my role is getting the opportunity to support the vibrant voluntary sector in my constituency.

“Lanark and Hamilton East has a strong community-driven spirit and it’s reflected by the commitment of our voluntary sector, striving to improve the lives of those in our local communities.

“It would be fantastic to see as many of my constituents nominated for an award, giving them an opportunity to have their hard work and dedication formally recognised. I would therefore encourage as many people as possible to nominate their own local champions.”

Nomination forms can be found here.
