Angela Crawley MP is set to host two welfare surgeries today (Wednesday) to help constituents resolve issues with the social security system.
The specialist Welfare Surgeries will take place from 10am to 12 noon in the Whitehill Neighbourhood Centre and between 2pm and 4pm in the Trinity Parish Church
The Lanark and Hamilton East MP is joining with local organisations to assist residents who have encountered problems with the UK’s social security system.
Constituents will be able to receive assistance from Angela and her team as well as receiving support and guidance from both Money Matters and the Citizens Advice Bureau.
Commenting, Angela said:
“Since being elected in May, I have offered assistance to hundreds of constituents who have been affected by the UK Government’s welfare reform agenda.
“In Parliament, I have raised my constituents concerns about cuts and changes to ESA, Universal Credit, PIP and other benefits– regularly challenging the UK Government to recognise their flaws and change direction.
“I am elected to represent my constituents’ views in Parliament. When it comes to welfare issues, I often hear that practical support that is needed, but often found wanting.
“It is also good news that welfare experts from both Money Matters and the Citizen Advice Bureau will be in attendance at the Welfare Surgeries to give assistance and guidance to anyone in need.
“So if you have encountered any difficulties when dealing with the DWP, come and visit my Welfare Surgery and we will offer as much help, guidance and information as possible.”
