Lanark and Hamilton East MP Angela Crawley is urging South Lanarkshire residents to make sure they are registered to vote ahead of the local elections next month.
There is just one week left to register and be eligible to vote for your local councillors on May 5th.
Everyone aged 16 and over on polling who is either a British or Irish citizen or is foreign national living in Scotland who has or does not need to leave to stay in the UK is eligible to vote in the local elections.
Registering to vote is simple and can take as little as five minutes online. Residents have until midnight on Monday 18th April to register.

“It is vital that everyone who is eligible registers to vote so that they can exercise their right to choose who runs local services.
“The elections next month will affect local services from schools and social care to bin collection and our parks and green spaces so it is important everyone has the opportunity to have their say.”
