Isla Hutton wins MP Christmas Card Award

A Hamilton schoolgirl’s design has been chosen for Lanark and Hamilton East MP Angela Crawley’s Christmas card design this year.

Isla Hutton, aged 10, from Woodside Primary in Silvertonhill, was one of hundreds of primary school aged entrants into Ms Crawley’s Christmas card competition.

Isla’s design shows a family scene, with presents under the tree and a reindeer driven sleigh in silhouette against a full moon.

All proceeds from the donations raised will go to Lanarkshire Women’s Aid.

Ms Crawley said: “I was delighted with the high quality of responses I received from children across the constituency.

“The final decision was not easy to make, but I thought Isla’s picture captured the importance of family and the excitement of Christmas.

“I wish to thank all the entrants and wish them and their families a very happy Christmas.”

“It’s also great that Lanarkshire Women’s Aid will benefit from the card competition, and a huge thanks goes to the sponsors Inkspot Design Hamilton and Tunnocks for making the initiative possible.
