Angela to host ‘Prepare for Brexit’ event

Lanark & Hamilton East MP Angela Crawley is encouraging constituents to join her at an event aimed at assisting businesses as the UK prepares to leave the European Union.

The virtual meeting will take place on the 11th of December between 11am and 1pm and is available to all local business owners. It will be attended by representatives from the Federation of Small Business.

The UK has already left the EU and is leaving the single market and customs union at the end of the year.

The end of the transition period will have a huge impact on trade and action is required now to prepare for changes and new rules from January 2021.

Commenting, Angela said:

“Brexit will cause a huge shock to our economy and local businesses will be hit hard as a result of leaving the EU either with or without a deal.

“That said, there are a number of things that business owners can and must to mitigate some of the impact.

“I have organised a virtual meeting with industry experts to ensure businesses in my constituency are as prepared for Brexit as they possibly can be.

“So, if you live or own a business locally and require advice, please join the virtual meeting and have your questions answered.”
