Angela to host EU National Surgery

Lanark and Hamilton East MP Angela Crawley is set to host an EU national surgery in conjunction with Hamilton Citizens Advice Bureau.

The event will take place in the Hamilton Town House on Friday the 15th of March between 10am and 12noon.

As Brexit day approaches, Angela has been contacted by hundreds of EU Nationals seeking support and guidance on continuing their immigration status after the 29th of March.

This event will give EU Nationals the opportunity to ask questions and receive clarity on a number of issues, including on their settlement application.

Commenting, Angela said:

“As we move closer to leaving the EU, there are a number of concerns that my constituents have raised with me in relation to their continued status within the UK post Brexit.

“It is important that EU nationals feel welcome in their homes and that support is provided to assist them in remaining within the UK.

“It is no secret that I think our best interests are served by remaining in the EU and do not believe that Brexit is a forgone conclusion.

“However, whilst continuing to campaign for the best outcome, we must be prepared for the worst.

“That is why I decided to host this public event and give EU Nationals the opportunity to receive answers to a number of their questions and hopefully relieve some of their anxieties.

“As well as my staff, advisers from the Citizens Advice Bureau will be on hand to help.

“So if you are worried or have some questions, please come along to my surgery next week and I will do my best to help.”
