Angela nominates Angels for ‘Parliamentary Pub of the Year’

Lanark and Hamilton East MP Angela Crawley recently nominated Angels in Uddingston for this year’s national ‘Parliamentary Pub of the Year’ competition.

The annual competition judges pubs on the basis of their range of beer and food, the quality of their beer garden, the level of investment and quality of the bar, their charitable contributions and the work they undertake within the local community.

Angels Hotel and the now ‘Harry’s Bar’ underwent a £750,000 transformation in recent years, adding more rooms and additional capacity to the bar and restaurant. The bar also offers a large beer garden which allowed customers to enjoy this year’s world cup.

Commenting on the nomination, Angela said:

“There are a number of outstanding bars across my constituency that all offer something different, so to pick one pub to nominate was a difficult task.

“However, Angels and Harry’s bar have received huge investment in recent times and the place looks fantastic as a result.

“In terms of the food on offer, the quality of service and the beer garden, they are in with a good chance of winning.

“I really enjoyed meeting the Angels team last week and presenting them with the nomination.

“I wish them the best of luck in the competition – I am sure they will do Lanark and Hamilton East proud.”
