Angela launches #CommunityAdvent

Angela Crawley MP has today launched her #CommunityAdvent initiative which will see her and her team get more involved with local organisations and campaigns in the lead up to Christmas.

The initiative will start with a reading at St Johns Church this evening (Friday, Dec 1st) in support of World Aids Day, and the next week will involve supporting the campaign for Fairtrade locally, assisting the Citizens Advice Bureau, supporting Shelter and wrapping presents for Angela’s annual Christmas Toy Bank.

In the days running up to Christmas, Angela’s team plan to be even more visible on the streets of Lanark and Hamilton East. From attending Holy Cross Christmas Fair to helping WomenKIND in Clydesdale make handbags for Christmas time.

Commenting on her initiative, Angela said:

“The work undertaken by so many individuals across my constituency inspires me every day and as their Member of Parliament, I want to support as many of them as I can – particularly in the run up to Christmas.

“For the next 24 days, team Lanark and Hamilton East will be visiting local organisations and doing what we can to help-out. I am also continuing the projects of previous years, including our Christmas Card Competition and our Christmas Toy Bank.

“This year the proceeds of the Card Competition will be donated to the Lanarkshire Association of Mental Health.

“My team are looking forward to helping some fantastic local organisations and giving something back to communities across my constituency this festive period.”
