Additional funding for those affected by flooding

Lanark and Hamilton East MP Angela Crawley has today highlighted additional funding for those that suffered the effects of the recent floods.

Foundation Scotland launched a Flood Recovery Appeal on 8th January, raising funds to directly support individuals and families affected.

In addition, funding is available for community organisations working hard to provide services in many areas across Scotland. The fund total has now reached £300K due to the generous support of the public, businesses and funders.

Commenting, Angela said:

“The recovery and prevention of further flood damage is much more than an immediate emergency, and by its nature requires sustained, long term funding.

“With the Flood Recovery Appeal, Foundation Scotland aims to establish a funding model to support those affected both now and into the future.

“Organisations can apply to the Flood Appeal in addition to claiming funds available from the Scottish Government.

“So if you were affected by the recent floods, please apply. All details on how to apply can be found on Foundation Scotland’s website.
