Angela & Aileen host McMillan Coffee Morning

Angela Crawley MP and Aileen Campbell MSP have expressed their thanks to the 100 attendees who helped raise £333 at their Macmillan coffee morning held in the Lanark Tolbooth on Friday September 30.

The event was part of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, and all proceeds will go towards supporting cancer patients.

Similar coffee mornings were held across the UK on the same date, and the charity hopes to top the £25 million raised from last year’s event.

Lanark and Hamilton East MP Ms Crawley said: “The coffee morning was a great success, and I am grateful to everyone who helped us raise funds for Macmillan.

“The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning initiative is vital in securing funds for the medical, emotional, practical and financial support Macmillan delivers for cancer patients.”

Clydesdale MSP Ms Campbell said: “The work done by Macmillan and other charities makes a tremendous difference to those who have cancer, so it was wonderful to be able to do our part for them.

“It was especially heartening to have such a large turnout at our coffee morning and see the people of Lanark step up to help the charity.”
